Scope of Symposium
This symposium will focus on recent progress in the growth, assembly, fundamental properties and applications of semiconducting NWs. Special emphasis will be given to methods to add functionality, such as modulated (radial and axial) heterostructures, hybrid NWs, NW surface engineering and hetereogenous nanowire-nanoparticle, nanowire-nanocrystal complex. Functional applications include chemical and biosensing, high-mobility transistors, light-emitting diodes, solar cells, and batteries where the semiconducting properties play a role.
- Nanowire growth control and mechanism - heterostructure nanowires - Hetereogeneous nanowire-nanoparticle, nanowire-nanocrystal complex - Novel characterization techniques - Electronic, optical and mechanical properties - Nanowire-based electronic, photonic and optoelectronic devices - Nanowires for energy applications - Nanowires for sensing applications
The journal, Nanoscale, will publish a focus issue on recent advances in semiconductor nanowires research based on papers chosen from submitted manuscripts. Detailed Call for papers can be found here
