Scope of Symposium

Data storage and memory devices play an important role in real life applications such as hard disk drives, memories for computers and other consumer electronic devices. For hard disk drives and magnetic memories, developments in nano-structured magnetic materials are significant. In a similar way, material and device development in memory devices lead to faster, cheaper and smaller devices. This symposium will provide a platform to discuss the latest progress in the memory materials, architectures and devices, nanostructured magnetic materials or nanomagnetic structures. There will be special invited sessions on magnetic recording and memory, in addition to contributed sessions. The following are the tentative topics of the symposium.

1. Spintronics
2. Nanomagnetic materials
3. Magnetic Nanostructures
4. Magnetic Random Access Memory and Materials
5. Magnetic Recording materials
6. Soft magnetic Materials
7. Biomagnetic Materials
8. Novel Memory Architectures
9. Emerging Storage Class Memory and Materials
10. Embedded Memory: Materials and Integration Technologies (eDRAM, eNVM, FPGA architecture)

Manuscript Submission

Selected papers will be published in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Letters (http://www.aspbs.com/nnl/). The selection criteria for this journal will be quite stringent as the journal aims to achieve a high quality. The deadline of submission of manuscripts : 15th July 2011. The manuscripts should be sent to prem@ieee.org with the subject line ICMAT Manuscript.
